Kevin L. Hall was born on September 26, 1969 to the late Deacon Robert M. Hall, Sr., and Marlene M. Hall. He is the youngest of three children, who at the early age of 3 expressed his love for gospel music. His mother can recall the day when Kevin stood on her step stool in the kitchen, dressed in his bathrobe pretending it was his choir robe, singing “Glory, Glory, Hallelujah Since I Laid My Burdens Down.”
Kevin gave his life to the Lord at age 8 and was baptized at the Brown Grove Baptist Church in Ashland, VA. Kevin participated in various youth ministries in the church including the youth choir, often singing lead vocals on many of the choir’s songs. At the age of 14, he moved his membership to St. Peter Baptist Church where he is active in the choir and other ministries. He currently sings with the S.H. Thompson Memorial Choir at. St. Peter.
Kevin became the Director of St. Peter Baptist Church’s Youth Ensemble in 1996. Of the many accomplishments during his tenure as Director, he is most noted for having led these young persons and growing the choir from 22 members to an astonishing 60 member youth choir. Because of this growth, the choir’s name changed to Praise Fellowship Youth Choir. The choir soon became known throughout the city and county as a highly respected and spirit filled group of young persons who sang contemporary gospel music. Their repertoire included choreography and such noted and loved songs as: The Lord is my Shepherd; Hosanna; Even Me; Walk In Jerusalem; Let Everything That Has Breath; Hallelujah, Salvation, and Glory; Prayer of Jabez and many, many more. Through God’s blessings and anointing, Kevin mentored these young persons and taught them the meaning of what they were singing. It was not uncommon to listen in on a rehearsal and hear Kevin praising the Lord, teaching the music, administering discipline, laughing and playing with the youth. Under his seven year leadership of this ministry, Praise Fellowship achieved the following:
· Recorded a live CD in May 1999 entitled “When Praises Go Up”
· Opened concerts for national recording artists like Fred Hammond, Helen Baylor and Nancy Jackson
· Ministered and performed concerts in Washington, DC; Baltimore, MD; Philadelphia, PA; Raleigh, NC; Goldsboro, NC, Louisville, KY, and various cities throughout Virginia
· Voted by WFTH 1590 Radio Station as “Best Youth Choir in Central Virginia” in 2001
Education and Personal Accomplishments: Kevin graduated from Lee Davis High School in 1987 and also attended Norfolk State University where he majored in Mass Communications. He sang with the Norfolk State University Gospel Choir. His personal accomplishments include:

In 2004, Kevin became the new Director of Virginia Commonwealth University’s Black Awakening Choir. He is known for his energetic directing, innovative teaching techniques and strict choir decorum. With God’s help, it is Kevin’s sincere desire to take this choir to a new level of performing and ministering.
