Thank you for your interest in the Black Awakening Choir. If you would like to have the choir minister for your event, consider all of the information listed below and please completely fill out the Engagement Request Form. Your request will be processed upon retrival. 

Honorarium

Black Awakening Choir is a non-profit organization that relies on generous donations from various organizations and the community. A set fee is applied. For questions about anything on this page please email Roderick Hayes, Business Manager ,at  blackawakening@hotmail.com.


Engagements 

We require that all engagement requests are made 4 weeks prior to the date of your event.

 You must completely fill out an engagement request form and submit it to the Business Manager or the Director before the Executive Board will vote on the engagement. Please fill out the engagement request form. 

The choir has a three (3) song minimum. Six or more selections are considered a full concert. 
 

Please notify us immediately if your program will include more than four groups.  
 

Local Engagements

A Local engagement is defined as any location inside an hour of the City of Richmond . 

Out-of-Town Engagements

An out-of-town engagement is defined as any location outside of an hour of the City of Richmond.  Therefore, we require your organization to pay the full cost of transportation to and from the event and provide a small meal for the choir.  We have formed relationships with several area bus companies; therefore we try to get the best possible rate available.  You may also wish to contact a reputable bus company of your choice. 
 

Other Important Information 
 

If the choir is expected to participate in any special offerings that you may collect during the program, please let us know in advance so that our students may plan accordingly.
